“STEAM AT LLANGOLLEN” The Quarterly Magazine for Trust Members Available to the public through Llangollen Railway Shop Situated on Platform 1 Publications By Llangollen Railway and About Llangollen Railway Every Quarter, the Llangollen Railway Trust publishes: GUIDE BOOK for the

The Guide Book is shown with Issue No 123 of Steam at Llangollen (the shadowy figure which the publications are resting on is my dog Ozzy, a patient old fellow, well used to the railway, unfortunately now passed on).

The Book is available from shops on the railway and is a recommended read for identifying features in and around the landscape that the train passes through.

These are publications by other bodies and not by SAL Publications. Many are available from the shop on Platform One.

There are many publications about the Ruabon to Barmouth main line, where Llangollen Station is located about seven miles from Llangollen Line Junction, just south of Ruabon Station on the Chester to Shrewsbury main line. Unfortunately, Ruabon to Barmouth was axed under the Beeching Cuts in 1965 and the track lifted in 1968.

The line passed through Bala Junction Station, where the line to Ffestiniog branched off to the west, another casualty of the cuts, and there are also books on this line.

There are books on each of the stations on the Llangollen Railway also further publications on the railways of the Dee Valley and surrounding district are always being produced.

Most of these publications are available in Llangollen Railway Shop on Platform One of Llangollen Station.
